yeah imma get the new iphone too, i just hope it has gps but even if it doesn't i'm not waiting another year or whatever until it does. i'm actually all apple all the time now pretty much, which happened pretty much by every single part of my pc crapping out/stopped working but i like mac a lot better now though (except for notepad and paint.net, and any decent ftp program) i'll probably never get a pc again (though i'll have xp on my future macs just in case)

I've got to say I agree almost 100%. GMail is by far the best web-based e-mail client available with a very rich feature set. The fact that I can setup all my e-mail accounts in GMail and then access GMail via Mozilla Thunderbird has been a god send for me. And since it offers IMAP capabilities when I do access GMail via the web I've not adversely effected anything on my Thunderbird client software.

For Task solutions I also like Remember the Milk - but for project collaboration I'm a big fan of 37Signal's Basebamp (http://www.basecamphq.com/). You can sync basecamp's calendar with Google calendar because their calendar complies to the iCal standard, but it's not quite as functional as the Remember the Milk calendar features in Google Calendar.

I have yet to find one cell phone that does what I want. Around here, AT&T's service is hit or miss so I don't trust the iPhone to do the basics much less what it purports to do. And I have a tough time with Apple products anyway - you use them the way they intend, not the way you might want. I've been a Sprint customer for years and to replace my Samsung Blade I've been looking at the HTC Mogul. It's Windows Mobile so everything I need from Google will run just fine and I can continue to utilize it as a broadband modem when I'm out of WiFi range (a simple hack of the Blade has allowed me this functionality for the last two years).

I'm going to have to check out foldershare. I've been using a USB external HDD to backup my desktop system and since I don't use my laptop nearly as much as I thought, I've never put much consideration into backing it up much less syncing it with my desktop.
